In line with its stated intention to enhance productivity, staff safety and accountability to its customers a local authority recently invited CAPCOM to design build and install a Vehicle Tracking and Monitoring system to meet their exacting specification. After much consultation and discussion, the system was commissioned utilising CAPCOM’s expertise and combining best of breed products from a number of our high technology partners and has been running successfully for the last 2 months offering features such as:
1. PC based Map (Networked) showing current location of all vehicle, speed, direction etc. Ideal for advising colleagues and customers of an expected time of arrival for a vehicle.
2. Easily accessible historic log showing daily, weekly, monthly route, ideal for Refuse, Gritter, Sweeper or any vehicle activity. Perfect for confirming if or when a given road has been swept, gritted or even if a grass verge has been cut or a gully emptied.
3. Real-time and historical information on vehicle status, such as vehicle at maximum weight, sweeper brushes operating, gritting, gully emptying in operation, you name it. Supervisor/manager can see where their resources at a glance to allow them to react to changing circumstances or needs, Dramatically reducing costs.
4. Full two way radio communication with “Red Button” emergency call facility.
5. All vehicle activity and radio conversations recorded for “loneworker” staff safety and training.
6. A whole raft of additional features are available as required.
