With a Transport sector that includes railway networks, light rail systems and bus networks, with different users in customer facing, support and maintenance roles, often with similar but also specific requirements, it presents huge and varied challenges for radio communications providers. We set up a central control room, supplied and installed an IP network to monitor and control 80 different sites on the network, responding to live incidents as they occur. We also installed GPS tracking in all the railway depots to provide a duty of care to staff, with each depot having its own control room with CCTV capability so that the unmanned railway stations can be monitored remotely. Additionally the CCTV system has an incident recording system for safety and investigation purposes. We also provide a full disaster recovery solution with a replica of the live communications system installed at Capcom’s offices for monitoring, troubleshooting, problem-solving and disaster recovery as required.
